Lovin the idea though not sure I want my whole stream informed of what Im doing right now.. Does this defeat twitter? Most of my followers will not apreciate this form of technology. They will be questioning why the UI looks like the websites broken.

I think it could help aggregate conversations simultaneously from multiple communities. IRC can have easy web interface without account required, so (slightly) lower barrier to entry than Twitter.
