- the grey hurts my eyes.

- This is a really really cool idea and I hope it gets picked up more!
- k6o →
- i like this
- PressExit →
- Lovin the idea though not sure I want my whole stream informed of what Im doing right now.. Does this defeat twitter? Most of my followers will not apreciate this form of technology. They will be questioning why the UI looks like the websites broken.
- JacopoGio →
- hmmm, checking it ;-)
- →
- woud be nice to have a Time stamp near by
- altf →
- i like. simple and useful.
- uggedal →
- Love the minimalism
- stutefc →
- Looks good!

- Playing around with a tiny thread. I like it. Great idea @joshu
- soundboy →
- hello mr schachter, what in the world is this!
- gwidianto →
- what's the difference with twitter?
- saskia →
- I agree with @uggedal: Love the minimalism
- nitin →
- hi Joshua - great to see this - would love your comments on http://microsyntax.pbworks.com/LinkedList which I started awhile back. Meant as compact syntax for tweet threading
- sebzac →
- Wow! This is way too minimal.. but lovin it..
- mvisser →
- Using the Twitter platform for Threaded Conversations is nice, but how do we get ratings in here?
- →
- Ok, I expected that the content would be published to Twitter, but it doesn't. This means we got more than 140 characters to discuss and features can be easaly added.
- rainbowhill →
- nobody really expects answers to "lazyweb" questions.
- mvisser →
- But how will this leverage the platform, other than asking your followers to join a discussion?
- hp_akkerman →
- My first tiny thread entry - will it work?
- →
- OK it does. Looks nice / basic.
- fcseh →
- I am tired goind to sleep finally ☃☃☃

- minimal. reddit-like.
- ihoka →
- Unicode works ☺
- meredithcarson →
- It's almost analogue. Love at first sight.
- derekw →
- hey, this is kinda sweet
- drawtrebor08 →
- this would be great for giveaways ;)
- dhavalmotghare →
- love the minimalism in these days of web 2.0
- acedanger →
- this is pretty cool, now that I see what it's supposed to do
- bastienlabelle →
- Cool stuff (and thanks @pims for sharing)
- andre_g →
- This is nice!
- TTBeNnI →
- I like it too. A very usefull tool for real conversations on twitter!
- mfukar →
- Very neat. Kudos.
- cshirky →
- the tinythread, she no is turning those http thingies into links? that is certainly old skool, but perhaps a bit *too* old skool...
- tom_watson →
- You are a very insightful person joshu. This works for me. I'm thinking it will go into the stratoshphere in take up.
- nezmar →
- Nice idea, and I approve the minimal look. :)
- joshr →
- nice work @joshu, simple simple
- marrriones →
- Yeah ! i like it. Minimalism is good ;)
- fresh_squeezed →
- Handy. A kind of twitter-tangent-machine...
- johngoode →
- I like the simplicity, like it lots!
- Dongy →
- So what is it? An asychronous chat room? :)
- galgo →
- Sweetness is a.tinythread.com I like the minimalism & simplicity
- Dongy →
- I meant asynchronous :)
- piawaugh →
- I like it, but agree with @cshirky need links to work (urls, nicks, comments), and perhaps ability to reply to have tiny threading :)
- dxbluey →
- I can see this really working well. Nice work Joshu!
- piawaugh →
- nice job @joshu! Yay Python!
- njr0 →
- No idea where this is going, but looks worth a whirl
- leebloke →
- This is the first time I've twittered for months. It's quite exciting
- piawaugh →
- I love how it only lets Twitter know once that you are in the conversation. Nice! Makes a conversation with Twitter community easier, faster, and less spammy :)
- Twipcomics →
- How will it work when the topic is less self-referential? It seems promising - AND maybe one of those things that ultimately becomes something different as users begin to play around with it.
- piawaugh →
- Mind you, I still quite like IRC for channel/community discussions. Perhaps integration of Twitter with an IRC channel would be useful? Or is that just evil? And with that I'm off to sleep :)
- GingerNic →
- chat room/mini forum + twitter/friendfeed = win?
- stuartcw →
- 日本語も使える?
- piawaugh →
- I think it could help aggregate conversations simultaneously from multiple communities. IRC can have easy web interface without account required, so (slightly) lower barrier to entry than Twitter.
- lbrt →
- @joshu any thoughts on keeping spam out of tiny threads yet?
- leebloke →
- @piawaugh Get off to sleep. Its too addictive. You'll be here all night
- otrops →
- What I'm liking most about it so far is that it becomes a tool for discovering people outside of your usual group of twitter followers.
- johngoode →
- the inventor rarely has the privilege of defining the purpose of his invention
- Kate_Butler →
- this is interesting. though i never thought i'd get nostalgic for IRC!
- whittest →
- hm. other than marketing purposes, not sure I see the point of the "I joined a thread" tweets
- piawaugh →
- Thanks @leebloke, this is cool, but I need to be up early. Last thoughts: Would be nice if refreshing took you to the bottom of the page (most recent content), also if you could reply to specific comments and create mini threads.
- cshirky →
- @johngoode corrolary: only bad inventors have the privilege of defining the purpose of their inventions
- whittest →
- piggybacking off of the existing authentication/community around twitter makes sense to me, but the auto-tweets don't.
- PRL1973 →
- I never knew that I didnt know that I wasnt able to do this until now. Amazing.
- joeatwork →
- fab!
- whittest →
- immediate feeling is that it's shared space but not particularly conversational space
- →
- one interesting prior art note would be the Urban Baby forums (David Karp pre-tumblr)...
- →
- they were short-item focused but allowed for longer comments, and had the sort of reply threading that would make discussion clearer
- →
- very interesting
- cshirky →
- @whittest i imagine it will be a place for "hey, what should I see in santiago?" kinds of twit Qs. it will also be more asynch/conversational with groups of half a dozen participants.
- golan →
- thinks tinythread might be better post-facto, for visualizing implicit threads in Twitter, after the fact?
- piawaugh →
- @cshirky, as I said, it's more like IRC ;) Creating common spaces for discussion and hanging out virtually amongst like-minded people (whom you may or may not already know)
- xqus →
- this is going to be interesting. :)
- Waddo →
- is anyone going to read all of these if this thing 'goes big'?
- jen_bolton →
- No. ;)
- twhid →
- ...just checking it out
- Twipcomics →
- @johngoode So much good feedback here, in such a short time; This inventor has opened an exciting new door.

- @joshu perhaps rephrase the text below textbox to "we will send a tweet to your stream ONCE to notify your followers!"
- Twipcomics →
- I agree with @piawaugh: Would be nice if refreshing took you to the bottom of the page (most recent content).
- →
- ... which it just did. (What did I miss?)
- stenpittet →
- isn't that a twitter chatroom?
- samharrelson →
- a.tinythread.com reminds me of pinboard.in. love the format of both.
- DarkBls →
- Testing atiny thread too
- dovene →
